A Day at the Zoo

We went to the zoo yesterday and saw elephants:

...and monkeys...

...and alligators...

...and a rather angry Asian Bear (note the cloud of dust he kicked up)...

...and a tiger (isn't she pretty?)...

...and an octopus...no, wait...that's Eli's head!... Looking at this photo, one can't help but notice why the mullet was never a very popular Victorian hairstyle...makes a terrible sillouhette!)

...and Meerkats...all these guys need are blindfolds and cigarettes...

...we were in the petting zoo and Eli had a staredown with a turkey...

...then he made friends with a cute little black pig...

...and we ended the day in the playground area. It was a good day :)

I'm with Eli! Turkeys need a good staredown, I'm really not good with chickens either! What a cutie-pie. I haven't been to the zoo in years so thanks for the wee cyber trip.

So looking forward to this swap will be great. Last week of feb is perfect. About the coffee morning, I just checked my graduation dates and unfortunately the exodus will be happening the other direction across the water. My grad. ceremony is 12th May so I won't be heading back 'til after that :( *sob* but you make sure you have a great time for me too and if I find the whereabouts of Shane McGowan I'll let you know (I did see an interview with him over the holidays and he's looking worse for wear, think the only way he's alive now is that he's pickled his own insides...amazing songwriter tho, that gift will never change)

Ahh, the zoo. We're planning on doing that this spring. Since our kids are about the same age I wondered if you had any parent tips about what to expect? Hey! That turkey looks QUITE mad!

You know what they say, everything's happening at the zoo! Was Eli having the best time? He looks it.
Great photos by the way. It's so touch and go if any of the animals will be out, but those guys are very clearly out! Probably the very mild winter Florida weather.
I'm emailing you to join as an admin on the new blog. What do you think of Knitters of Avalon? Too cheesy for words? I gave it the very clever name mistsofavalonkal. Genius, eh?
